Will I own my apartment or garden home?
Residents will have a lifetime lease for a Studio, 1 BR, 1 BRDLX, 2 BR, 2 BRDLX, or 3 BR apartment (or a room in assisted living or nursing home) for the rest of their lives. Residents of 2 BR or 3 BR garden homes will also have the same lifetime lease. There is no ownership or equity involved.
Under what circumstances would I have to give up my apartment or garden home?
During short-term illness or convalescence from surgery, your apartment or garden home will await your return just like your present home. However, if it becomes clear you need a level of care that is not available in a private apartment or garden home, you would move to assisted living, the nursing home, or the Alzheimer’s residence. One of the most important advantages of being a member of a life care community is that if you, your spouse or your friends become ill, you are still able to visit without leaving the community and friends you have grown to love.
If it becomes necessary for me to move into assisted living or the nursing home, will I ever be able to move back into an apartment or garden home?
Absolutely. If your health allows you to resume an independent lifestyle, the first available apartment or garden home will be yours.
